It looks like we modified the MSI a little bit, not sure exactly what we did that for. We just launch msiexec /i 'Symantec EV Outlook addin.msi' MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=DISABLE /reboot=ReallySuppress (we found this information in the EV documentation e.g. EV10.0.4-SettingupExchangeServerArchiving.pdf ) probably here: Symantec also mention some details in there about open file handling, which can trigger the need for a restart or prompt the user. We don't have any other scripting or pre-requisites or dependencies or anything.
